Saudi Aramco leader reassures China’s role as important partner

(MENAFN) Saudi Aramco President and CEO Amin H. Nasser has reaffirmed China’s role as a vital strategic partner for the energy giant, with plans underway to expand investment and cooperation in the country.

During a media briefing on the company’s financial performance for the first half of 2025, Nasser highlighted the importance of Aramco’s relationship with Chinese partners. “We have excellent collaboration with our Chinese partners. China is an important strategic market for Saudi Aramco,” he stated.

He pointed out that China is home to several large-scale, integrated refining and petrochemical projects, in which Aramco is actively engaged through investment and development efforts.

According to Nasser, the company already holds significant investments in China and intends to further grow its presence in various sectors. “We have in the pipeline a number of investment plans in China that could be promising,” he said.

He also stressed China’s pivotal role in the global chemical industry. “China will continue to be a main market for Saudi Aramco when it comes to supply of crude, investments and projects like liquids-to-chemicals,” Nasser added.
